The Ford Focus ST hatchback was launched in 2005 as the successor to the Focus RS. ST makes a strong case for being the best of the lot, not least because it is offered at such a temptingly low price. Great engine, enthusiastic yet amazing handling and generous accommodation in a striking body shell!

The Ford Focus ST engine is a 2.5 litre five cylinder turbocharged 222bhp unit which has a six speed gearbox.

The Focus ST has great interior quality styling with impressive handling in part due to a lower and stiff suspension but generally the ride remains comfortable in all conditions. An ESP stability control is included on the ST2 and ST3 (not the ST1) which can be turn off in search of ultimate driving thrills!

The ST has three trim levels, the ST1 features 18-inch alloy wheels, Recaro seats, sporty ST body styling and a pod full of extra dials. The ST2 has an MP3 compatible stereo, heated front screen, xenon headlamps and a stability and traction control system. The ST3 model has ten way electrically adjustable Recaro seats, full leather trim and a six-disk autochanger.

The Ford Focus ST has safety in mind with a five-star Euro NCAP crash test rating and all STs come with six airbags. High-security anti-burst door locks shielded against theft with childproof locks on rear doors, central locking, ISOFIX child seat mounting and visible VIN.
